In a sad bit of news surrounding Jiah Khan‘s tragic June 3rd suicide, some filmmakers may be using this touchy subject matter as the basis for films!  Director Yogesh Jadhav has supposedly based his upcoming film ‘Nati‘ on Jiah’s life and death.  The film has Marathi actor Tejaa Deokar slated to play the title role and is slated for release this August.  Tejaa didn’t want to give away too much about the plot but said “People have this perception that actors have this good life. And when incidents like suicides occur, it is difficult to realize that there is so much pain and suffering behind the glossy facade.  I found the subject matter challenging and a bit risky too.”

Another filmmaker who is drawing parallels between his work and Jiah’s recent demise is debut ‘Bold Bollywood‘ director Rikshhit Matta.  Matta’s film, which stars Hazel Keech, Sandeepa Dhar, Shweta Bharadwaj, Rajpal Yadav and Manoj Joshi, is supposed to expose the seedy underbelly of Bollywood by delving into the lives of three actresses who’ve moved to Mumbai to make it in Bollywood.  He noted “One of the characters is similar to Jiah Khan and the ups and downs she went through in her career and life.”

While there may be many imitations or similar stories to Jiah Khan’s life, no official biopic has been announced or is shortly forthcoming so at this time audiences will have to sate their thirst for the tragic with imitations.
