Bollywood‘s hottest young star Ranbir Kapoor is extremely excited to gauge audience reaction to the trailer for his latest film ‘Besharam‘, if sources are to be believed.   Reports have Ranbir calling the film’s director Abhinav Singh Kashyap every 30 minutes to find out if people like what they see.  Perhaps he’s also excited because the film has him sharing screen time with his parents Rishi and Neetu Kapoor for the first time in his career.  Or maybe Ranbir just wants to continue riding the wave of success he’s enjoyed after ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani‘ and prove he doesn’t need Deepika Padukone to have a smash hit.  Either way, Ranbir seems to be all in on this project.

The film revolves around the exploits of a typical, uneducated middle class guy played by Ranbir.  ‘Besharam‘ also marks the Bollywood debut for Indo-Austrailian actress Pallavi Sharda who we’re guessing plays Ranbir’s romantic interest in the film . The movie’s tagline can roughly be translated to ‘No desire for respect, no fear of disrepect‘ as besharam is a word that is typically used in a negative connotation to describe someone as shameless.

Director Sing Kashyap is seeking to play with the loaded meaning of the word besharam and has said of his unusual title  “When I was making `Dabangg` as well, people used to ask me that why am I naming my film`Dabangg`as it is a negative word. Even`Besharam` is a villainous word. I want to tell people the right meaning of the word. I want to show that `Besharam` can be positive. This will be the quality of my hero. He is a poor guy but has a nice heart.”

Let’s take a look at that trailer:

The movie is scheduled for a October 2, 2013 release, we’ll see if audiences are ready to embrace Ranbir the Rascal….

So what do you think people, will audiences embrace Ranbir’s new persona in ‘Besharam‘?
