In some “hmmm, this should be interesting...” news, former pornstar turned Bollywood item number girl Sunny Leone is learning hindi and going to attempt speaking it in her next film, ‘Jackpot The Full Jhol‘.  The film’s producers have hired a hindi tutor to help the fledgling Bollywood star learn a foreign tongue.

Sunny was born in 1981 in Sarnia, Ontario to Sikh Punjabi parents and never learned her native tongue as her parents sent her to a Catholic high school.  She has seemingly made the unlikely transition from full-fledged porn star, including a stint as Penthouse Pet of the Year 2003, to a Bollywood star although ‘Jackpot The Full Jhol‘ features her much more extensively than her previous films did.

Speaking of her attempt at speaking Hindi on film for the first time she said “I have learned all my Hindi lines for all my movies here. Even though ‘Jism 2‘ was dubbed I still had to learn every single word. And in ‘Ragini MMS 2‘ I will be dubbing my own voice. It’s very important to me to learn and work hard to get it right. I am extremely competitive so when someone tells me I can’t do something like act, dance, express emotions on screen, or speak Hindi, all it makes me do is work harder to prove all those negative people wrong.

Well, at least she’s trying as British national Katrina Kaif still hasn’t quite mastered Hindi and native New Yorker Nargis Fakhri sidestepped the issue of her lack of Hindi language skills by playing a half-British journalist who speaks exclusively in English with hindi subtitles in John Abraham‘s latest film ‘Madras Cafe‘. We can watch Sunny’s attempts at speaking Hindi very soon as ‘Jackpot The Full Jhol‘ is slated for release September 20, 2013.
