Amitabh Bachchan at ‘The Great Gatsby’ Premiere in New York

The New York premiere for ‘The Great Gatsby’ was an emotional experience for Amitabh Bachchan. “The crowd’s cheers were overwhelming.”

Mega star Bachchan tweeted “Back from The Great Gatsby premiere and has to be said… the EF (extended family) was the main attraction. Simply superb! American media, fans, security in shock. Thank you my ED, and thank you to those that cheered their lungs out. US media thought Leonardo had come, when noise went up.”

Amitabh also told a source, had his family not have been there, “no one would have even noticed me.” He added that the premier was an “emotional” experience for him. Posting: “I really have no words to express my gratitude to all of you that cheered in virtual world, and on the streets of NYC… indebted.”

No duh, you’re not in Mumbai anymore Amitabh!

Amitabh Bachchan makes his Hollywood film debut in The Great Gatsby, directed by Baz Luhrmann. Bachchan plays Meyer Wolfsheim, a Jewish mobster. The movie is an adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald’s novel.

Actress speaks out about the pressures of being thin in Bollywood

” Today most of the girls are stick thin, and that is a tragedy. That has been life miserable for women like me,” says actress Raveena Tandon.

The pressure to be thin isn’t just in Hollywood. Apparently, Bollywood diva’s also face the same criticism and scrutiny if they aren’t a size zero. Raveena Tandon along with Aishwariya Rai, and many others have been targeted by the media concerning their weight.

So sad–but we’re not surprised. As if Bollywood didn’t have other issues to conquer. Take skin lightening for an example. Even today, if your not a certain skin tone, you will not be considered beautiful.

Sickening I know….
