‘Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston as New Lex Luthor in Upcoming ‘Man of Steel’ Sequel?

Well, we’ve already had the shocking news that Christian Bale has turned down the chance to play Batman again in the upcoming sequel to monster hit ‘Man of Steel‘ with Ben Affleck picking up the cowl and cape of everyone’s favorite masked vigilante, but it looks like the casting surprises don’t stop there.

Bryan Cranston has shown everyone that he’s not just a sitcom dad anymore, ala ‘Malcolm in the Middle‘, with his masterful performance as chemistry teacher turned meth kingpin Walter White in one of TV’s greatest series ever and perennial critical darling/ratings champ ‘Breaking Bad‘.  But Cranston may not be done there as rumors are swirling that he’s on tap to play one of the most famous super-villains ever in Superman‘s nemesis Lex Luthor.

Ever since Lex was introduced to audience’s in April of 1940 by way of Action Comics #23, he’s been the Moriarty to Superman’s Sherlock Holmes.  Lex is often described as a power mad industrialist hell-bent on world domination and the eradication of Superman, but it would be interesting to see what one of the hottest actors in Hollywood would bring to a character voted 8th best villain of all-time by Wizard magazine.

Here’s Cranston putting on an acting clinic in his portrayal of Walter White’s transformation into murderous and cunning meth kingpin Heisenberg, let’s watch:

I am the one who knocks!!!!”…. Classic!  The sequel to ‘Man of Steel‘, tentatively entitled ‘Batman v. Superman‘, will hit theaters mid-summer 2015 and ‘Breaking Bad‘s fifth and final season continues to unfurl on AMC as we speak.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s relationship on the rocks?

Director/Actor, Ben Affleck and wife Jennifer Garner are rumored to have trouble in paradise. The parents of three, are supposedly having problems within their marriage due to their busy schedules. According to a source, “Ben really wants to win an Oscar for this film, and he’s become pretty obsessive about it.” They added,”With Ben on the road promoting his movie, he and Jen are spending a lot of nights apart. They’re at a breaking point right now. While Jen is trying to be supportive, friends say they aren’t sure how much longer she’ll be able – or willing – to juggle the kids and her career without Ben’s help. If he does win that Oscar, he’d better thank Jen first.”

Uh-oh, we will have to wait and see what happens with this one. In the meantime, we hope Ben does win that Oscar for his flick Argo!

Ben Affleck wants to work with Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart and Ben Affleck are reportedly going to be working together in a romantic comedy called “Focus.” Stewart revealed, now that she’s done with Twilight Saga- Breaking Dawn 2, she would like to switch it up a bit. She tells a source “I’m kind of desperate to get a job right now. I’m itching to get back to work.” As for Ben, well, he thinks Kristen is just “Terrific,” and wants to work with her. The Actor/Director told a source, “I’m hesitant to get into casting stuff because I don’t know what’s finished or isn’t because people come in and out of things all the time. But she’s terrific and hopefully it will work out.”

I wonder what Kristen’s die hard fans will think when they see her in a completely different role than what she’s known for…
