It looks like Hrithik Roshan has overtaken Shah Rukh Khan in one important category, the all-time Indian domestic box-office record as his latest film continues to topple box-office records. ‘Krrish 3‘ has passed SRK’s latest film ‘Chennai Express‘ with a robust $36.3 million domestic box-office take compared to the $36.1 million that ‘Chennai Express‘ generated.

The third installment in Hrithik’s super-hero franchise was once again directed by his father Rakesh Roshan and featured Priyanka Chopra and Vivek Oberoi, among others. Despite the success of the film, ‘Chennai Express‘ still made more money overall as it made $19 million overseas compared to the $6.2 million that ‘Krrish 3‘ took in. If you’re looking for the most successful Bollywood movie of all-time, however, you’ll have to look past dashing superheroes or SRK’s action capers to a comedy. That’s right, Aamir Khan‘s 2009 film ‘3 Idiots‘ still holds the title as the most successful Bollywood movie of all time with over $60 million in box-office receipts.

Look to Aamir Khan to try and break his own record with his latest film (and the third installment of another trilogy) ‘Dhoom 3‘, which is set to be released on December 20th. Aamir plays alongside Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan, and Uday Chopra in the action-thriller that is set in Chicago this time around.  ‘Dhoom 3‘ is the first Indian film to by played in the IMAX format and hits theaters around the Christmas holiday season.

Brad Pitt‘s latest flick ‘World War Z‘ is proving all the doubters wrong and having a great weekend at the box office.  The end of the world zombie apocalypse film started off as a 2006 graphic novel that Pitt’s production company picked up one year later.  Despite rumors of difficulty with the film including a budget of $125 million that ballooned to $200 million, a rewritten script, reshoots, and a release date that was delayed from December 21, 2012 to June 21, 2013 early reports are that it is doing well at theaters.

Here’s a trailer for ‘World War Z‘:

Director Marc Forster says he took inspiration from how ants swarmed an anthill he watched as a boy growing up in Switzerland for one horrific scene in which the zombies swarm a wall in Jerusalem.  This movie looks great and the Movie Don can’t wait to see it, see you in the theaters folks!
