India’s making it official! Finally, a museum dedicated to Indian cinema which will trace all the way back to its black and white days. According to reports, the museum took about seven years to wrap up and is the first of its kind.
The goal is to showcase Bollywood memorabilia, along with original artifacts from movie sets, among other film-making tools. The whole idea is to celebrate Bollywood and the various films made over the last century.
Excited about the grand opening, curator Amrit Gangar had this to say, “It’s about time India had its own film museum. We have archives, but not a museum and today a museum can become vibrant because of technology and interactivity.”
Bollywood tours are also in the making. India has learned they can continue to build up the hype and profit off of tourists by running their own celebrity tours, much similar to Tinseltowns.
Exciting!
The museum is set to launch in Mumbai, India in just a few weeks.
