Well, this is a first.  It seems that Indian security forces recently picked up a trio of knife-wielding Chinese Muslims who had crossed the border from Kargalilik, in Western Xianjang province in China, into India.  What lured these men into India and  almost unwittingly causing an international incident? Espionage?  Some fiendish plot?  Sightseeing???  Why, the answer is much more simple.  Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan made them do it!  Er, well, at least the allure of Bollywood made them venture into India.

“Come on over to India, the land of milk and honey!! Er, or lassi and ras malai! Don’t you agree Shah Rukh?”

In a plot straight out of a movie (take note Bollywood producers, hint, hint…) the men, who only spoke Uighur, were given the impression that India was a land of prosperity thanks to the Bollywood movies they had seen.  So ,like any men hailing from an impoverished area of China, they decided to seek their fame and fortune in India.  Well, Kashmir to be exact as that’s where they were reportedly headed.  Unluckily, they were intercepted by Indian forces who were perplexed by what Chinese Muslims armed with only swords and knives were doing in India.  A translator later, the men’s true aim was discovered.  They just wanted to be where every shy girl turns out to be gorgeous and everything is done with a song and dance routine!

Hooray for Bollywood, I guess?

‘Life of Pi’ actor Irrfan Khan stopped at the airport

Irrfan Khan isn’t too happy with his recent experience with the immigration authorities at the US airports.

“It’s humiliating. They don’t even disclose the reason,” says Irrfan, who is one of the most recognized actors from India. He’s been in films such as the Oscar-winner ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, ‘Life of Pi’ and crowd pleaser ‘Spider-Man’.

Irrfan was detained twice at LAX back in 2008 and JFK in 2009. However, Irrfan isn’t the only Khan to have faced such issues in US airports. Shahrukh Khan also had problems traveling back and forth from India and has been quite vocal about it.

Looks like celebs don’t get special treatment when it comes to safety after all.

Aamir Khan refused 150 crore

Aamir Khan has proved, once again, that he isn’t all about the money.

When Aamir Khan started to create awareness about social welfare through his popular show Satyamev Jayate , on Star Plus we applauded him. Ratings shot up for the show and almost everyone who was remotely familiar with this show was talking about it. For Aamir, it meant a lot more than success on the small screen. He wanted to make a difference in society by attempting to change the way people think about many of the issues South Asians face today.

The perfectionist is undergoing a makeover. Rumor is the actor wants to project himself as someone who is working towards a social cause, and so we hear the actor has refused an endorsement worth Rs 150 crore. For those who do not speak hindi, that equals one billion five hundred million.

Confirming the buzz Aamir said, “I have cancelled all my endorsement deals.”  With that said, we praise you Aamir! It takes courage to stand up for what you believe in, ESPECIALLY in the industry.

I read recently that Aamir also headed to Hajj (A pilgrimage that is mandatory for all Muslims) with his mother. I can’t wait for the second season of Satyamev Jayate. WE LOVE YOU AAMIR!
